You can use your phone's mobile data to connect your Pixel Tablet to the Internet when you don't have access to a Wi-Fi network. When you share a connection this way, it's called tethering or using a hotspot.
Some mobile data providers limit data usage or charge extra when you tether to other devices. We recommend that you check with your provider before you activate these features.
Connect your Pixel Tablet to your phone's hotspot
- On your Android phone, turn on mobile hotspot. Follow the instructions that came with your phone.
- On your Pixel Tablet:
- Swipe down from the top of the screen.
- Tap Internet tap the name of the hotspot.
Tether your tablet to your Android phone with Bluetooth
1. Turn on Bluetooth
- On your Pixel Tablet, open the Settings app .
- Tap Connected Devices Connection preferences Bluetooth.
- Turn on Use Bluetooth.
2. Turn on Bluetooth tethering
- On your Android phone:
- Open Bluetooth settings and pair your phone with your Pixel Tablet. Your tablet is visible as "Pixel Tablet". Note: If you get a prompt on either device, tap it to finish pairing.
- Set up Bluetooth tethering. Follow the instructions that came with your phone.
Tether with a USB cable
- Use a USB cable to connect your Pixel Tablet to your Android phone.
- On your Pixel Tablet, open the Settings app .
- Tap Network & internet Tethering turn on USB tethering.
Share your Pixel Tablet's connection with another device
When your Pixel Tablet is connected to the Internet, you can use Bluetooth to share its wireless Internet connection with other nearby Bluetooth-compatible devices.
- On your Pixel Tablet, open the Settings app .
- Tap Network and Internet Tethering turn on Bluetooth tethering
- Pair your Pixel Tablet with another device using Bluetooth. Your tablet is visible as 'Pixel Tablet'.
- Set up the other device to get its network connection with Bluetooth. Follow the instructions that came with the device.
