Your Google Assistant on Google Home can send information to your phone and help you learn more about the topic. This includes things like directions, traffic information, and sports standings.

Step 1. Get started with the Google Assistant app

Here's how to get started with the Google Assistant app. If you've already used the Google Assistant app, skip to the next step.

To use the Google Assistant, you’ll need a phone with:

• Android 6.0 or higher
• Google app 6.13 or higher
• Google Play services
• 1.5 GB of memory and 720p screen resolution

Step 2. Make sure your phone and Google Home are signed into the same Google Account

Phone:

Go to Settings  Accounts  make sure your Google Account is listed, or else Add account.

Google Home:

1. Open the Google Home app .
2. At the top right corner of the home screen, tap your account.
3. At the top of the screen, you'll see the Google Account you're currently signed into.
4. To change this account, tap your account name and choose another account.

Step 3. Turn on notifications on your phone

1. Open the Google Home app .
2. Select your device.
3. At the top right corner of the screen, tap Settings . 
4. Under "More," turn on Notifications.

Step 4. Set up Voice Match on Google Home

If you’re the only person using the device,  you can skip this step. If multiple people are using a Google Home device, each person needs to set up Voice Match on Google Home to get information on their phone.

Anyone who hasn't set up Voice Match can't send information to phones.

1. Open the Google Home app .
2. At the top right corner of the screen, tap your account.
3. Verify that the Google Account shown is the one linked to your Google Home or Google Nest device. To switch accounts, tap another account or Add another account.
4. Go back to the home screen.
5. Tap Settings   More settings  Assistant.
6. Under Assistant, tap Voice Match.
7. Make sure any devices you want to link your voice to are checked.
8. Tap Continue  I agree.
9. Follow the steps.

Step 5. Send information to your phone

After your Google Assistant responds to your initial query, say "OK Google, send this to my phone."

Note: If you ask for things on Google Home where your phone or a screen would be helpful, your Assistant will send the information to your phone automatically. This includes things like directions, traffic information, and sports standings.

Supported features

You can send information on these features to your phone:

Calendar information  

• Say "Hey Google, what’s on my agenda?"“Send to my phone.”

Weather

• Say "Hey Google, what’s the weather in Paris next week?”“Send to my phone.”

Movies

• Say "Hey Google, what movies are playing nearby?"“Send to my phone.”

Lists

• Say "Hey Google, attractions in San Francisco."“Send to my phone.”

Images and photos

• Say "Hey Google, pictures of Elvis Presley."“Send to my phone.”

Translations

• Say "Hey Google, How do you say, 'Hello' in Japanese?"“Send to my phone.”

Directions

• Say "Hey Google, how do I get to Costco?"“Send to my phone.”

Traffic

• Say "Hey Google, how long is my commute?"“Send to my phone.”

Step 6. Get information on your phone

If you’ve activated the Assistant on your phone and have notifications turned on, you’ll see a notification on your phone. Tap on the notification for more information. If you don't need the information/notification anymore, you can swipe it away.

Unread notifications remain on your phone for 24 hours.

Turn off notifications

1. Open the Google Home app .
2. Select your device.
3. At the top right, tap Settings . 
4. Under "More," turn off Notifications.

Fix a problem

If you're not getting information on your phone,

1. Make sure you've activated your Assistant.
2. You're requesting information on a supported feature. Music, alarms, and timers are a few features that can't be sent to your phone.
3. Make sure your phone and Google Home are signed into the same Google Account.
4. Make sure notifications are turned on.
5. If multiple people are using Google Home, make sure you've linked your Google Account and voice. If your Assistant can't recognize your voice, it can't send information to your phone.
