Enjoy a slideshow of your personal photos from your Google Photos library on any voice-supported TV with Chromecast or Chromecast Built-In using only your voice.
Important: To view Google Photos using the Google Home app, you must have a Google Nest display with Photo Frame enabled, Chromecast or TV with Chromecast Built-In linked to your Google Nest or Home speaker or display.
Step 1. Set up personalisation
One person using your speaker or display- Make sure that your mobile device or tablet is connected to the same Wi-Fi network or linked to the same account as your speaker or display.
- Open the Google Home app .
- At the top right, tap your account.
- Verify that the Google Account shown is the one linked to your Google device. If correct, tap to close the account window. To switch accounts, tap the dropdown icon , then tap another account or Add another account.
- Go back to the home screen.
- Tap and hold your device's tile.
- At the top right, tap Settings Recognition and sharing Recognition and personalisation turn on Allow personal results.
- Open the Google Home app .
- Tap Settings Google Assistant Voice Match Other devices.
- If you have more than one home, tap the home that you want to add Voice Match to.
- Tap Get started follow the in-app steps.
- Note: To turn on Voice Match automatically for new devices in the same home, turn on 'Automatically enable on future devices'.
Step 2. Set up Google Photos to display on your TV
To display Google Photos on your TV using your speaker or display, you must complete the two steps below:
Step 1. Link TVs to your speaker or displayNote: The following steps are optional if you only want to control your TV with your mobile device or tablet. However, if you want to control your TV using voice commands through your speaker or display, follow the steps below.
- Make sure that your mobile device or tablet is connected to the same Wi-Fi or linked to the same account as your Chromecast, or speaker or display.
- Open the Google Home app .
- Tap your account.
Verify that the Google Account shown is the one linked to your speaker or display. If correct, tap Close to return to the previous screen.
- To switch accounts, tap the triangle next to the Google Account, then tap another account or Add another account.
- Go back to the home screen, then touch and hold your Chromecast or TV with Chromecast Built-in's tile.
- At the top right, tap Settings Recognition and sharing.
- Look for a banner at the top of the page entitled 'Enable voice control and more'.
- If the banner appears, tap it and follow the steps to link your TV.
- If the banner doesn't appear but your email address appears under 'Linked account(s)', your TV is already linked.
Note: If you get an 'Error when linking device' error message, you must factory reset your Chromecast device.
- Open the Google Home app .
- At the top-left corner, tap Add Videos.
- Turn on 'Photos'.
Note: The Google Photos that are displayed are associated with the Google Account linked to your Google speaker or display.
Step 3. View your slideshow using voice commands

Note: These commands will only work for photos that you've already backed up and organised through your Google Photos account.
Step 4. Control your slideshow using voice commands
After you use one of the voice commands above to start a slideshow, you'll find the Google Photos logo on your TV screen while the slideshow opens. Once the slideshow starts, use any of the commands below to control the slideshow.
Note: After you say a command, a confirmation of the command will appear at the top-left corner of your screen.

Prevent Google Photos from displaying on TVs
- Open the Google Home app .
- Tap your account.
Verify that the Google Account shown is the one linked to your Google device. If correct, tap to close the account window. To switch accounts, tap the dropdown icon , then tap another account or Add another account.
- Tap Assistant settings Videos and photos.
- Under 'Photos', turn off Google Photos.
