Learn how to set up and sync Ace, Ace 2, or Ace 3 for your child. If your child doesn't have a Fitbit device, use the Google Health app on their phone to track their steps.

- Confirm that you are the family manager of a Google family group. For instructions on how to create a family on Google, see the Google for Families help center.
- Connect your child's Ace device to the charger before you begin the setup process.
- Download and install the Google Health app from one of the following locations:
- Apple devices—Apple App Store
- Android devices—Google Play Store
- Tap Sign in with Google. Your child signs in with their Google Account. If your child doesn't have a Google Account, tap Create your account, and follow the on-screen instructions.
- Review the information about managing a child account on Google Health.
- Tap Agree and continue, and enter the password for your Google Account.
- Add a Google Health profile for your child.
- Tap Next. Your child can log in to their Google Health profile.
- Tap Continue, and follow the on-screen instructions to pair Ace to your child's profile.

- Make sure you have a Google Health profile. If not, download the Google Health app
tap Sign in with Google
follow the on-screen instructions to create a profile. Please note that you do not need to have a Fitbit device in order to create a free account.
- In the Google Health app, tap your Profile picture or Initial.
- Tap Google Health settings
Add a child account.
- Review the information about managing a child account on Google Health.
- Tap Agree and continue, and enter the password for your Google Account.
- Tap Continue, and follow the on-screen instructions to pair Ace.
- Confirm that you are the family manager of a Google family group. For instructions on how to create a family on Google, see the Google for Families help center.
- Connect your child's Ace device to the charger before you begin the setup process.
- Make sure you have a Google Health profile. If not, download the Google Health app
tap Sign in with Google
follow the on-screen instructions to create a profile.
- Open the Google Health app
and tap your Profile picture or Initial.
- Tap Google Health settings
Add a child account.
- When prompted, enter your Google Health password and your child’s information.
- Switch to your child's profile to set up the Ace device.
To sync Ace, switch to your child's profile on your phone or tablet open the Google Health app. Ace syncs automatically.
Some parents might have previously created a Google Account for their child with an adult’s date of birth due to past technical limitations. Going forward, children now need to use Google Health with a Google Account birthday that matches their real date of birth.
To change your child’s birthday:
- Sign in to your child’s Google account.
- In a browser window, visit the Google Account Manager.
- Click Personal Info
Birthday.
- Update the birthday
Save.
