How to switch from AdWords Express to Ads?

Hi guys,

I have a client with an AdWords Express account - How do I contact Google to have them change it to an Ads account?

Thanks
Paul

You don't need to contact Google at all. Just log in to the main Ads interface with the same email and password information you used in the AdWords Express account and it will all be linked. You can start creating your Ads campaign(s) there.

You can pause your AdWords Express ad, if you no longer want that campaign to serve traffic.

I tried doing this but when I log in in the "main ads interface" with the same email and password it just opens up the adwords express account again. So that is just the same... Does anyone know what I can do?

Why is this so difficult?  I didnt even have a chance to opt out of Express.  Ive cleared cache and logged back in and i'm still going to express.  How to I stop this - I want normal google ads please.

Hi,

When you open Google Ads as a Smart Campaign you should be able to create a new campaign that is not a Smart Campaign. I do this often with client accounts. The key to do so is clicking on the small red words under the new Smart Campaign creation flow. Please see screenshots below:

1. Open Google Ads (in Smart Campaign). Click create ad.

2. Ignore the 3 options and click on the tiny red words under the creation flow boxes.

3. You now have the same campaign creation flow as a full feature Google Ads account. Once you create your first campaign all of the features and menus presented to a full feature account will be presented to you.

Hope this helps you or someone else out there with this issue.

Kind Regards,

James
