How to access the Keyword Planner?
I'm trying to use the Keyword Planner but when I login to Google Ads, it takes me to the "create a campaign" screen. I don't see an option to go any further unless I create a campaign. Is it necessary to do so in order to access the Keyword Planner?

if the ad-account is a smart-campaign-account, then
there are no keywords and there is no keyword-planner.
google-trends may be used for general search-term/keyword analysis.

Hi Mike,
Here are some key points to keep in mind in order to access the Keyword Planner:
- Try clearing your cookies and your cache and see if that resolves the issue
- If not, it's probably because Google requires you to have an Ads account to access the tool
- A suggestion for a quick work-around - just create a Campaign, with the status of Paused
- Do not activate anything in the Campaign, just create it and then you should be able to access the tool
Hope that helps!

Do you have a Google Ads account with ads running and clicks that have been charged?

how to create a new campaign depends on
if either a smart-campaign-account,
or a default-ad-account (smart-mode),
is being used.

the details are different, depending on the type of advertising account.
