I can't figure out why my Ads are blocked for sensitive events & I can't reach support staff 0 Recommended Answers 5 Replies 0 Upvotes

I recently started a new YouTube channel, that is relevant to finance (research on stocks). I wanted to give myself a head start, by utilizing Google Ads. But since I created my account & added a credit card, every time I post an Ad (promoting my first and only video), I get blocked for "Sensitive Events" (I was also blocked for punctuation issues, which I fixed and that block was lifted).

Now of course I read through the sensitive events policy, but did not find something that relates to my content. So I naturally contacted Google Ads and this was not as smooth as I expected:

(a) I chatted multiple times and was always redirected to sales (trying to setup a campaign for me etc.). I know myself around (it's not that hard for a millennial) and I explained that I am in no need for a campaign setup.

(b) I also send emails about my case and have gotten no answer since Monday.

(c) I also got a call-back from Google Ads, granted that person the ok (via email accept) to log into my account and tell me what's wrong. And she was supposed to redirect me to someone not in sales (she was of sales, even though I did again not ask for that) but that never happened. She was also supposed to have send an email to the relevant department (policy issues) - that all happened on Monday.

And today I wanted to enter the chat again, and there was no access available to me. So again, I send another email....

This is getting tedious. I want to spend, I'm not asking for money. Why is that so hard?

Hi

Check your video language settings (in your Youtube channel) it should reflect the language is mostly in you videos, as Youtube AI try to process the audio of your video, and if language settings are not correct, then it misidentify words, phrases.
Suggestion: Do not mix languages in videos you want to promote (for example English greetings etc. but main language used is Hindi)

If your channel (description, audio, text in videos) mentions anything to do with the pandemic, that will be the reason.

Thank you both.

Could be either, I use Latin words like 'ceteris paribus' from time to time and I used the term 'Covid' once (even though I do not talk about the virus in any way).

If these are the issues it's fine. But today, Friday, I still have no answer from staff members. That's almost an entire business week...

since covid, there is no set time-frame for how long an appeal may take --
https://support.google.com/google-ads/workflow/9416245

also, appeals tend to work only if the formal appeal/approvals form was
submitted, and only if google made a mistake in issuing the policy-flag --
otherwise, if the triggering content remains, an appeal will only be a
temporary fix, as the policy-flag will be triggered again and again.

otherwise, the best likely course is to remove or rewrite any content within
the channel, including visible text in the channel, or any visible or audible
content within all channel-videos, that in any way whatsoever, may imply or
refer to, covid, lockdowns, or similar, or that may use any another language --
then edit the ad slightly, to trigger a re-review.

as was indicated, google may check the entire channel --
if only one video exists, then check the entire video and
all content in the channel, including links and comments.

the process is mainly trial-and-error -- while removing/rewriting likely issues.

if the expectation is that someone at google will respond
to say specifically what triggered a sensitive-events flag,
or any policy-flag, or exactly what is wrong, or exactly
what to change to remove a policy-flag, then that typically
will not happen, and likely should not be expected.

posting, here in public, more specific details, such as
the specific video url, specific channel url, etc., may
sometimes allow other community-members to offer
more specific suggestions or possibilities.

as an aside, most financial products or services are highly sensitive
and restricted businesses with respect to any google advertising --
especially personalized-advertising features, or smart-campaigns.

Hi

Try to remove covid, and check all your Latin words, phrases probably some work has a different meaning in English (once I tried "summa c*m laude" it was not easy :-) )
