Keyword Planner No Longer Allows Filter by "Closely Related Ideas"

Looks like Keyword Planner just updated their tool. In the past (last week), the tool allowed me to filter my results by "Closely Related Ideas" rather than "Broadly Related Ideas".

Is Google going to bring back this filter? It was extremely important to narrow down my results to a smaller number of effective keywords. Now, I have to deal with a much larger list which includes broad ideas. Please help!

Hello Jay :)
You are right, Keyword Planner has been updated recently:

Have you tried using "Website filtering"...? It looks like a good solution for you:

I tried website filtering. But, it filters too much to the point that I get too few keywords and total search volume is low. It also seems to filter based on my site's meta-keywords, which I set, so this filter wouldn't be objective.

Any updates if Google plans on reintroducing filter by "Closely Related Keywords"? It was extremely useful and the tool is almost unusable for me now.

To underscore how inefficient the new keyword planner tool is...
If i search for the term "remote jobs" with no filtering.

I get 467 keyword ideas. Only 1 of these keywords even includes the word "jobs".
Previously, with the old tool, all my generated keywords would at the minimum include both "remote" and "jobs".

I can't find a workaround. I want to make sure my suggested keywords include both "remote and "jobs". If I apply these filters after performing a search, I get only 1 keyword in my dataset :(

And looks like the "exclude brand names" is also excluding keywords that are not brand names ;)

Yes , "Closely Related Ideas" & "Broadly Related Ideas" Filter is so important to us too , we always use it to make powerful negative keyword lists but now the new tool takes that away

It's a big step backwards (in my opinion). Hopefully, Google realizes this and adds the filter.

Perhaps it would be a good idea to use this feedback form to let Google know about the issue: https://support.google.com/google-ads/contact/aw_complaint

I have submitted feedback to Google. Hopefully, Google considers adding back the "Closely Related Ideas" filter.

Cheers!

I also submitted my concerns on the following page and asked to bring this absolutely essential feature back: https://support.google.com/google-ads/contact/aw_complaint
