Use structured snippet extensions

Structured snippets are extensions that highlight specific aspects of your products and services. They typically increase ad performance by giving people more reasons to click.

Read our policy on structured snippets.

Keep in mind

  • Structured snippets show with ads on the Search Network.
  • Lower-level structured snippets override higher-level structured snippets. So, structured snippets added to an ad group will show instead of structured snippets added to the account.

Instructions

 

How to add structured snippets

  1. Click Ads & extensions in the page menu on the left, then click Extensions at the top of the page. 
  2. Click the plus button , then click + Structured snippet extension
  3. From the “Add to” drop-down menu, choose the level you’d like to add the snippet to. 
  4. To create a new snippet:
    • Choose a language and header from the drop-down menus. The header will be shown in front of the values (snippets) you enter. 
    • Enter at least 3 values. 
    • Select a device preference to only show snippets on those devices. 
    • To schedule your extension to show during a particular date and time range, click the Advanced options drop-down menu and enter the scheduling details. 
  5. To add an existing snippet:
    • Click Use existing
    • Check the boxes next to the snippets you’d like to add. 
  6. Click Save

How to edit structured snippets

  1. Click Ads & extensions in the page menu on the left, then click Extensions at the top of the page. 
  2. Click the extension you’d like to edit and make changes in the window that appears. Click the arrow in the top right corner to see additional editing options. 
  3. Click Save.
