You can start, pause, or remove your campaigns. Pausing or removing a campaign will stop its ads from showing.
This article explains the steps you'll need to enable, pause, or remove your campaigns.
Keep in mind
When you remove a campaign, you stop it permanently. You can't resume or restore it. You can still view its performance data, but you can't edit its settings. To run a similar campaign, create a new campaign or duplicate the settings from the removed campaign. Use filters in Google Ads if you want to hide removed campaigns.
Resuming a campaign won't automatically start your ads if you’ve also paused the ad groups or keywords. You must manually resume each paused element. After you enable them, track their performance. If ads aren't running, check your budget, bidding strategy, and any policy violations.

How to enable, pause, or remove a campaign
- In your Google Ads account, click the Campaigns icon

- Click the Campaigns drop down in the section menu.
- Click Campaigns.

Next to each campaign name, you'll see a colored dot indicating the status of each of your campaigns. To change a campaign's status, click the status icon. Then, click one of the following:
- Enable to resume the campaign.
- Pause to place the campaign on hold.
- Remove to permanently stop the campaign.
How to enable, pause, or remove several campaigns at once
- In your Google Ads account, click the Campaigns icon
- Click the Campaigns drop down in the section menu.
- Click Campaigns.
- For each campaign that you want to update, select it by checking the box.

Once you've selected every campaign that you want to update, click Edit. Then, click one of the following:
- Enable to resume the campaign.
- Pause to place the campaign on hold.
- Remove to permanently stop the campaign.
