Product Linking: Link your Google Products during the Enhanced Onboarding Experience

The Google Ads onboarding and construction flow is being updated  to make it easier for you to start advertising with Google. By gathering the necessary business information up front with About Your Business Google can understand your marketing objectives and recommend the most relevant campaign type.

Supported Google products

Google supports the following Google products during the Enhanced Onboarding Experience for simplified linking:

  • Google Play
  • Google Merchant Center
  • Google Business Profile
  • YouTube Channels

Onboarding Experience

From the information provided at the start of the onboarding, we are able to detect if an advertiser has a Google Play account, a Google Merchant Center account, Google Business Profile or YouTube Channel. 

Identified accounts

All identified Google products will be highlighted in the 'About the Business' section. In order to connect identified accounts follow the steps outlined below:

  1. Click Link/Add. A drop-down will appear with pre-populated accounts.
  2. You can perform either of the following actions:
    • Select identified accounts.
    • Search for accounts to select.
  3. Select the account you want to link, then click the blue Link button.
  4. Select the data you want to import by clicking on the toggles, and then click Next.
  5. Review your selection and click Link.

You will be returned to the 'About the Business' section where you can add additional identified or unidentified accounts.

Note: If more than 5 properties per product are identified, the identified properties will be visible once you click into the search box.

Other accounts

All other Google products can be selected in the About the Business section under Optional: Connect other apps and accounts. In order to connect unidentified accounts follow the steps outlined below:

  1. Click Add. A drop-down will appear with a search box.
  2. In the search box, enter the channel URL (YouTube), account ID (Merchant Center) or app ID.
  3. Select the account you want to link by clicking the name, and then click Next.
  4. Review your selection and click Send Request.

You will be returned to the About the Business section where you can add additional identified or unidentified accounts.
