Linking your manager account to a Payments profile allows you to perform certain billing and payment actions. It also prevents any unauthorized billing changes in your account.

Before you begin
If you have a manager account and one of your client accounts applies for monthly invoicing, you’re required to link your manager account to the Payments profile.
There are 2 ways to link your manager account to a Payments profile. One is to request linking of your manager account to a Payments profile. The other is, if your manager account has a link-management permission for a Payments profile, you can send an invitation to another manager account to link to the Payments profile that you manage.
Request linking of your manager account to a Payments profile
How to request linking of your manager account to a Payments profile
- Sign in to your Google Ads Manager account.
- Select Billing icon
and then select Payments profile.
- Select the blue plus
button.
- Enter the 12-digit Payments profile ID you wish to link to and select Send Request.
- You can enter the Payments profile ID without dashes
- Make sure to enter a valid Payments profile ID
Your linking request will be sent to the admins of the manager account with link-management permission for that Payments profile. They'll review your request and approve or reject it accordingly.
If you, as the requester, are also the admin of the manager account with link-management permission for the profile you requested for linking, the link will automatically be approved.
You'll receive an email notification when your linking request has been approved or rejected. If the linking request is approved, it may take 24 hours for the Payments profile to show up in your manager account.

View your pending linking request
- Sign in to your Google Ads Manager account.
- Select Billing icon
and then select Payments profile.
- Go to the "Sent requests" tab to view the list of your manager account’s pending linking requests.
- If your request has been approved, rejected, or expired, you'll no longer find your pending or expired request in the "Sent requests" tab.
- If the approver does not take any action, up to 2 reminders will automatically be sent to them to review your request before it expires. The number of times reminders were sent is displayed in the "Reminders sent" column.
- Your request will expire 7 days after it was made. The date it will expire is displayed in the "Request expiration date" column. After your request expires, it will be automatically rejected, and you can resend the linking request.
- Alternatively, you can withdraw your request if it has not yet been approved or rejected. Select Withdraw under the "Actions" column if you no longer wish to link your manager account.
Potential errors
Error message #1: The Payments profile xxxx-xxxx-xxxx doesn’t have an assigned manager account with link-management permission.
Error message #2: The Payments profile ID you entered is invalid.
Error message #3: The Payments profile xxxx-xxxx-xxxx isn’t eligible for external linking.
- It’s not a monthly invoicing Payments profile, but rather a profile that is on manual payment or automatic payment option.
- It’s not on standard liability, but rather on a Sequential Liability (for US agencies), or Loi Sapin (for French agencies), or Mexican Liability (for customers in Mexico).
- The Payments profile does not pass our risk check.
Recommended action: If your Payments profile is on manual or automatic payment option, it’s not supported for linking with a manager account. For example, paying by credit or debit card, e-wallet, or virtual account number bank transfer. Otherwise, contact customer support for assistance to link your manager account to the Payments profile.

Send an invitation to a manager account to link to your Payments profile
- Sign in as an admin user to Google Ads manager account with link-management permission.
- Select Billing icon

- Select Payments profile.
- Select the Payments profile which your manager account has link-management permission to, which is indicated by a “Yes” in the “Link-management permission” column of the Payments profile table.
- Select the Link account button, enter the 10-digit manager account ID you want to link, and click Send invite.
- For security purposes, the admin user who sends the invitation must have at least read-only access to the invited manager account or the parent manager account of the invited manager account.
- If the admin user who sends the invitation is also an admin user of the invited manager account, the link will be automatically approved and become active.
- If the admin user who sent the invitation has access but is not an admin user of the invited manager account, an admin user of the invited manager account must access the Payments profile table. And, accept the link invitation within 30 days to activate it.
Unlink a manager account from your Payments profile
- Sign in as admin user to Google Ads manager account with link-management permission.
- Select Billing icon

- Select Payments profile.
- Select the Payments profile which your manager account has link-management permission to, which is indicated by a “Yes” in the “Link-management permission” column of the Payments profile table.
- Select Remove in the manager account row that needs to be unlinked.
- You can only remove the manager account that has zero accounts using the Payments profile.
