Choosing the right conversion goals

The goals that you select will determine what Google Ads will measure and report to you. Your campaigns will also be optimized to achieve these goals by showing your ads to people who are most likely to take the actions that meet your goal.

Your conversion goals are the type of actions that you want people to take that are most meaningful to your business after they have viewed your ad.

Select the broad category of actions that best describe your business goal for your website and the ads that direct people to it. Your most popular options include:

  • Purchases

People become customers with a purchase on your website.

  • Submit lead form

People fill out a form on your website that you will follow up on as a lead.

  • Phone calls

People call your business directly.

  • Page views

You direct people to a page, either on your website or elsewhere, that shows their interest in your business.

The goals you select will be the default goals for all of your campaigns. It can be edited later if necessary. Select the goals that align best with your business goals and what you want to achieve with Google Ads.
