Find more opportunities with recommendations

Recommendations can help you improve performance by looking at your account's performance history, your campaign settings, trends across Google, and more. We’ve seen advertisers who used recommendations to increase their account-level optimisation score by 10 points see a median 14% increase in conversions.1 To help you find more opportunities in your own campaigns, we're adding new recommendations and tools to help you optimise your Discovery campaigns, automatically apply recommendations and enhance your video campaigns.

Maximise performance for Discovery campaigns

The optimisation score already helps you prioritise recommendations across search, display, Shopping and video campaigns. With this recent update, you'll now see recommendations and an optimisation score for Discovery campaigns, as well. Similar to other campaign types, your optimisation score will range from 0% to 100%, with 100% meaning your Discovery campaigns are set to perform at their full potential. These recommendations are an easy way to help you follow the best practices that drive maximum impact, including:

  • Fix your disapproved assets to show them in your ads.
  • Get more conversions by showing your ads to additional customers.
  • Use optimised targeting to get more conversions at a similar cost.

Automatically apply recommendations at scale

Additionally, you can now automatically apply recommendations in manager accounts to help you optimise your accounts more efficiently. This makes it easier for you to manage and identify opportunities for growth across multiple manager accounts. You can now choose from over 22 recommendations to apply automatically, including:

  • Improve your responsive search ads to show more relevant messages to your customers.
  • Upgrade your conversion tracking for more accurate conversion measurement.

If you choose to turn this feature on, we'll automatically apply your selected types of recommendations as new opportunities are available. Bear in mind that you can change these selections or turn them off anytime.

Optimise your video campaigns more efficiently

Lastly, you’ll see more recommendations to help you optimise your video campaigns, including:

  • Set up product feeds to help you get more clicks and conversions at a lower CPA.
  • Set up Google Analytics 4 to give you deeper, cross-platform customer insights.
  • Upgrade your conversion tracking for more accurate conversion measurement.
