About saving and exporting media plans in Reach Planner

Reach Planner allows you to interact with your media plan in various ways to ensure that you can reference your media plan for future editing and review. Google also supports saving, exporting to CSV, exporting to Google Slides and screenshotting.

Saving plans

Select 'Save' on the plan page, then give your media plan a name to reference it later.

You can select any plan from your list of saved media plans from the Reach Planner homepage. This will show the saved version of the forecast at the date and time that it was saved. Reach Planner uses the most up-to-date information so that your forecast is based on the best information available at the date and time that the forecast was created.

  • Forecasts with future dates will show an option to refresh the media plan. After you refresh a plan, the forecast is updated. However, you need to save the plan to retain the new forecast. If the plan isn’t saved, the forecast will revert to its previous version.
  • For forecasts with dates in the past, the saved plan serves as a record of what was originally forecasted and it can’t be edited. You can copy settings from any saved plan into a new plan using the 'Make a copy' option in the 'More options' menu .

For Google Ads manager accounts:

  • Saved plans are only available at the account level and can’t be saved across accounts in a Google Ads manager account, so make sure that you know the accounts in which saved plans were created.
  • If you create a media plan, only you will be able to see the media plan. Other people in the Google Ads manager account won’t be able to access the media plan.

Exporting plans

Select 'Export' on the plan page to download the plan to CSV or Google Slides.

  • Select 'Download (.csv)' to download your plan, which will immediately download the file to your desktop
  • Select 'Export to Google Slides' then give your plan a file name, and select 'Export to Google Slides' which will notify you via email when the deck is ready

The CSV can be imported into Google Sheets, and will include all core plan details like location, demographics, date ranges and ad formats, and include forecast curve details such as budget points, reach points, in addition to other core plan metrics. The Google Slides deck will include all similar details but in a slide-friendly format inclusive of reach curves, graphs, charts and forecast details.

Screenshotting plans

Select 'Download screenshot' on the plan page to download a PNG of your media plan.

The screenshot functionality will immediately save a PNG file to your desktop, and include plan page details of your current plan page view, inclusive of the plan headline, scorecard metrics and a subtab visual. You can adjust the current view to capture exactly what you need, whether it’s a scorecard metric or a specific subtab visual (e.g. reach, views, conversions, full funnel, demographics or devices). Learn more about the capturable screenshot area below and adjust your window size to find a screenshot that works best for you.
