One time swap out

We'll be offering a one-time optional swap out for Explorers who purchased their device before October 28, 2013. The Explorer Program is designed for people who want to shape the future of Glass. We are always improving the software based on Explorers’ feedback, and this time, we’ve made some improvements to the hardware. We want everyone to take advantage of them by offering this one-time swap out.

What's changed with the new Glass Explorer Edition?

It looks the same. It feels the same. But there are some subtle improvements. It's a bit faster and more durable. It's compatible with Glass frames. All new accessories were designed for the new hardware, including the new Shades and a mono earbud (with cotton cap) included with your new Glass. It's the future.

Who is eligible for the swap?

Explorers who purchased the original Explorer version prior to October 28th, 2013 are eligible. Per our shipping policy, Glass only ships to United States addresses. All original Explorers are invited to join in, even if you've previously returned Glass. Rejoin the program by contacting us.

How long will I have to swap?

Once the program is open,We're emailing everyone on a rolling basis. Once you get your email, you’ll have 60 days until February 5th, 2014 to register for your exchange. Once you get your return box, please mail it with your Glass within two weeks.

Can I change colors?

Yes, this is a one-time opportunity to switch colors during your swap out.

When do I receive my return box?

First, make sure you've signed up using the link included in the email. This will reserve your spot in line. When your new Glass is ready, we'll let you know and send you a box to return your old Glass.

Does my warranty renew after I swap?

Yes. Your new Glass will come with a new 1-year warranty.

What if I don’t want to swap? Can I pay for another one?

This is a voluntary program. You can keep your original device subject to the warranty terms you agreed to at the time of your original purchase. Your warranty will expire 1 year after your original purchase date. Contact us if you'd like to purchase another.

I'm already replacing Glass. Will I get the new version?

Yes, you will receive a new version if your device ships after December 2nd, 2013.

What happens to my old Glass?

We get that you might be a little sad to part with your Glass; you’ve been through a lot together. So, we’re going to make sure that your old Glass is duly honored when you send it back. Stay tuned...
