XE7 release notes
More opportunities to say "ok glass"
If someone sends you a message that demands a timely comment, say "ok glass, reply" when viewing the notification. Saying "read aloud" works too. Take a picture, and if you want to share it right away, say "ok glass, share with..." while it is still on your display. If you're using an Android phone, answer calls by saying "ok glass, answer call," or drop it with "ok glass, decline call."
Browse the web
Now when you want to learn more about a search result, you can tap View website to browse the web page.
- Scroll - Slide your finger forward on the touchpad to scroll down.
- Zoom - Slide two fingers forward or backward to zoom.
- Look around - With two fingers down on the touchpad, move your head around to pan.
- Click - As you look around, you can tap to select anything in the center of the screen.
Send a message to more than ten people
Make a call or send a message to anyone in your Google Contacts. Use the touchpad to make a call or send a message and then swipe through everyone in the My Contacts section of your contacts. Using voice to call or sending a message by saying "ok glass" still limits you to your top ten contacts.
We've made search more conversational. Try using pronouns when referring to a recent search subject. For example, search "How tall is the Eiffel Tower?," then long press the touchpad again to follow up with "When was it built?"
New touch menu from the Home screen
Instead of a vertical scrolling list (like voice actions), the Home screen menu appears horizontally when you activate the menu using the touchpad.
New Google Now places bundle
Nearby places are now in one improved bundle. You can see at a glance all the nearby hot spots, then tap into it to browse through them and get directions.
Default contact information
Want Glass to prefer a personal email address over a work one? If a contact has multiple phone numbers or email addresses, you can now choose the default contact information for that person through their contact card on the MyGlass site or Android app.
Email/Phone number badges
You can now see at a glance if your contact has a phone number or email address. Just look to the nifty phone or email badges at the top left of the contact card.
The Sharing Contacts tab has been deprecated. You can now find your contacts in the MyGlass tab. The ten contacts here are given preferential treatment. They'll show up first in calls, messaging, and video calls. Sharing with your Google+ circles and selected Glassware doesn't need to be configured any more. Just find it in your sharing list, and those you use the most will bubble up to the top of the list.
Better contact selection auto-complete
Your friends look pretty great, even when you can't tell them apart. So we've added their profile photos and an email address or phone number to the autocomplete menu you use to add contacts.
