Before you head to the gym, make sure you’ve got what you need. Keys, water bottle, phone, and:

 A charged Fitbit device
With a battery life of several days, forgetting to charge your Fitbit device is easy. Remember to give your device a quick charge so it can track even your longest gym sessions. For more information, see How do I charge my Fitbit device?
  Customized exercises on your device

On select Fitbit devices, you can customize the exercise app to show only the workouts that interest you. Keep the treadmill exercise if you use it, and ditch swimming if you don’t. For more information, see How do I track my workouts with my Fitbit device?

After you update the Exercise app  on your device, you’re ready to work out! Don’t forget to start the exercise before you start sweating. For more information, see How do I track my activity with my Fitbit device?

Music and Bluetooth headphones (Fitbit Sense and Fitbit Versa series)

Give your workout an extra boost with the right playlist. Control music playing on your phone with select Fitbit devices. For more information, see How do I control music with my Fitbit device?

Crank up the music volume to match your workout intensity. Sense and Versa series* pair with Bluetooth headphones. For more information, see How do I connect Bluetooth audio devices to my Fitbit watch?

If you own Fitbit Flyer wireless headphones, go to Fitbit User Manuals.

*This feature isn't available on Fitbit Sense 2, Fitbit Versa Lite Edition, or Fitbit Versa 4.

You're ready to walk out the door! Now what kind of workout are you going to do?

I need to workout according to my heart-rate zones

Maybe you want to target your workout for fat-burning or cardio training, or see how many minutes you spend in your peak heart-rate zone during spin class. Check your heart rate while you sweat to see how hard you’re working. For more information, see How do I track heart rate with my Fitbit device?

For guidance on how to use your heart-rate zones to meet your fitness goals, see Get in the Zone: How to Burn Fat Fast with Target Heart Rate Training.

I need to sweat, but I'm crunched for time

If you need a quick workout but want to burn maximum calories, use your device to track a High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) workout. For more information, see How do I track my workouts with my Fitbit device?

You can also learn more about HIIT in the Fitbit blog: It's Never Too Late to Take Up High-Intensity Interval Training. Here's How to Start.
