Remote control modes
The remote control that comes with your Google Fiber TV system (model GFRM100 or GFRM200) has two modes:
Infrared (IR): Controls your television. For this mode, the remote needs to be in the line of sight with the TV to control it. IR controls your television's power, volume, mute, and input.
Bluetooth®: Controls your Fiber TV Box. For this mode, the remote doesn't need line of sight with the TV Box, so you can control your Fiber TV even when you're in another room. Bluetooth controls all functions on the remote, except volume, mute, and input.
Programming the remote
Your Installation Specialist programmed your remote to work with your TV. However, you can program the remote yourself if needed.
When you receive the remote, it's ready to use to control your Fiber TV Box. However, you can pair the remote with your TV Box if needed.
The remote must be within 10 meters (about 30 feet ) of the TV and TV Box, assuming there are no obstructions for IR mode and no significant obstructions for Bluetooth mode.
Low battery indicators
If the batteries are low, the TV and TV Box lights flash when you press the buttons on the remote, and a message appears on your TV screen. You can also check the remote's battery level at any time on the Remote Settings page.
For safety information about your remote see the product info.
