Set audio/video options
You can change several audio and video settings, such as the default audio language, digital audio output mode, video output mode (resolution), and video aspect ratio.
To set audio or video options:
Press on the remote control, select Settings, and press ok.
Select Audio/Video and press ok to display the Audio/Video Settings page.
Set any of the following options:
Video Output Mode Manually set the output resolution of your TV. This tells the TV Box the resolution of your TV, if it can't detect it.
If your TV is connected to the TV Box with an HDMI cable and you enable the Auto Configure HDMI Resolution option, you don't have to set this option.
If your TV is connected to the TV Box with component video cables or you have an older HDMI TV that doesn't properly report its resolution capabilities, you can disable Auto Configure HDMI Resolution and use this option to manually set the output resolution of your TV.
If you enable Auto Configure HDMI Resolution and then change this option, the next time you turn on the TV Box, this setting automatically changes back to the best resolution, according to what the TV Box can detect.
Auto Configure HDMI Resolution Allow Google Fiber TV to automatically set the best resolution (as determined by your TV) when your TV is connected with an HDMI cable.
If you enable this setting but your TV has no picture, try disabling it and then set Video Output Mode manually.
User Interface Position & Size Adjust the position and size of the image on your TV screen. When you select Adjust, the adjustment utility starts. Follow the instructions on the screen.
For the best experience, adjust the position and size to just fill your entire screen. Your Installation Specialist sets this for you initially, but you can adjust this setting if you ever change your TV.
Display Aspect Ratio
Select 16:9 or 4:3 for your TV screen's aspect ratio.
You can also change the aspect ratio for a specific show, to stretch or zoom the image to remove black borders above and below or on the sides of the image.
Digital Audio Output Mode Select the digital audio output mode for your system. If you select Auto, the system automatically detects the mode.
No sound from your TV? Some TVs incorrectly report the audio formats they support. If your TV Box is connected directly to your TV with an HDMI cable, try changing this setting to PCM.
Default Audio Language
Select the spoken language used for a show's audio.
If you're watching a show that provides multiple audio languages through the Secondary Audio Program (SAP), the audio will be in this language by default.
You can also set the audio language for a specific show.
