Return a Google Fiber device

If you move away from an area serviced by Google Fiber, downgrade or cancel your service for any reason, you'll have 60 days to return your unneeded devices. This return can be accomplished by returning to a Fedex Office Store, Self-Shipping, or by dropping them off at your local Fiber Space or Kiosk.

Although our equipment is hazardous-substance free, Google Fiber takes full responsibility for safely recycling/disposing of equipment we produce.

If you've made a plan change or cancellation and need to return Google Fiber device(s), you'll have several options to do so. Within 36 hours of making a plan change or cancelation taking effect, you'll receive two emails from fedex.com. 

The first will contain a link to print a prepaid return label if you choose to pack & ship it yourself. 

The second will contain a QR Code that can be brought into any FedEx Office store without the need for a label or packaging material and FedEx will handle the packing and shipping on your behalf.

How to return Google Fiber devices to a Fedex Office Store:

  1. Depending on the type of device(s) you have, you'll need to reset them to ensure your personal data and settings remain private. Please perform a factory reset of your Google Fiber devices before returning them. 
  2. Once you receive the second email from FedEx containing the return QR Code, find the nearest FedEx Office store to you. 
  3. Bring your equipment and the QR Code to the FedEx Office store, no label or packaging necessary.
  4. The FedEx representative will scan your QR Code and accept your equipment. You will receive a notification of your return within three days.
When using the return QR Code at a FedEx Office Store, Shipping, packaging, and labeling is free of charge.

How to return Google Fiber devices by Self-Shipping:

  1. Depending on the type of device(s) you have, you'll need to reset them to ensure your personal data and settings remain private. Please perform a factory reset of your Google Fiber devices before returning them.   2. Once you receive the first email from FedEx containing a return shipping label, pack up your devices using existing packaging material (such as material from the original boxes and bubble wrap, if you still have it) to protect against damage during shipment.
    1. If you have multiple devices, place them securely in one large box to ship. 
  3. Once your equipment is packaged, you can then:
    1. Print the return label, attach it to your package and drop the package off at any FedEx shipping location
    2. If you do not own a printer, bring your packaged device to any FedEx Office Store along with the email and FedEx will print the label for you.
While the shipping costs with the provided label are free, you'll be responsible for any optional packaging supplies or services purchased at a FedEx location if you choose to self-ship.

How to return Google Fiber devices to a Google Fiber Space or Kiosk:

If there is no Fiber Space in your area and you need to return your Fiber devices, you can return them to us by mail with a prepaid shipping label by following the instructions above. If there is no Fiber Space in your area and you need to replace one of your Fiber devices, please contact Google Fiber customer support and a Fiber team member will provide you with your options for replacement.
