  2. Select Manage plan.
  3. Under "Actions," select Switch plan.
  4. Follow the instructions.

Cancel a scheduled switch

If you schedule a plan switch for the start of your next billing cycle, you can cancel the switch and stay on your current plan type any time before the start of your next billing cycle.

  1. Sign in to your account at fi.google.com or open the Google Fi app Fi.
  2. Select Manage plan.
  3. At the top of the "Account" section, you'll find a notification of your scheduled plan switch.
  4. Select Cancel switch.

Group plans

Group plans have the following differences from individual plans:

  • Only the group plan owner can switch plan types.
  • All members of a group plan must be on the same billing plan.
  • If the group owner switches billing plans, everyone in the group will switch over to the new plan.

Frequently asked questions

What happens after I switch my plan?
At the top of your account, you and your group members will receive a notification of the elected switch and the new plan’s start date.
My bill is higher than expected when I switched from the Flexible plan to an unlimited plan

When you switch from the Flexible plan to the Simply Unlimited plan or Unlimited Plus plan, your first bill after you switch may be higher than you're used to.

Your bill includes:

  • Prepaying owner and members’ unlimited plan monthly charge for the next bill cycle
  • Postpaying owner and members’ data use from the Flexible plan, at $10 per GB from the previous bill cycle per month
  • Postpaying extra services you may have used in the previous bill cycle, like international calls, return to full speed data, and prorated costs for new members.

For example:

You just switched from the Flexible plan to an individual Simply Unlimited plan. In your last month, you used $20 of data on your Flexible plan. Your next bill includes:

  • $20 for data on your Flexible plan that you postpay.
  • $60 for your Simply Unlimited plan, which you prepay.
How often can I switch plans?
You can request a change in your billing plan as many times as you want, but the change won’t take effect until the start of your next billing cycle, unless you switch from Simply Unlimited to Unlimited Plus. Currently, you can’t schedule to switch your plan further in advance than the start of your next billing cycle.
How can I find my current billing cycle?
  1. Sign in to fi.google.com or open your Google Fi app Fi.
  2. At the top of your screen, you'll find "Your current cycle ends in X days."
If I switch from Unlimited Plus to Simply Unlimited or Flexible, what happens to my Google One benefits?
If you switch from the Unlimited Plus plan to the Flexible plan or the Simply Unlimited plan, 7 days after you switch, you lose access to your Google One benefits. If you want to keep your Google One membership benefits, we notify you that you can set up payment through Google One. After you switch, to begin payment through Google One, click the link in the pop-up notification.
