To send and receive some photo, video, and group messages, when you activate your service, update your iPhone settings. Make sure your settings are configured correctly for messaging:
Turn cellular data on
- On your iPhone or iPad, open the Settings app.
- Tap Cellular.
- Turn on Cellular Data.
Turn on data roaming
- On your iPhone or iPad, open the Settings app.
- Tap Cellular
Cellular Data Options.
- Turn on Data Roaming.
If you have multiple SIMs or carriers:
- On your iPhone or iPad, open the Settings app.
- Tap Cellular.
- Select your Google Fi SIM.
- To reach the bottom of the page, swipe up.
- Turn on Data Roaming.
Turn on RCS Messaging
You can only use RCS Messaging on iOS version 18.4 and up:
- On your iPhone, open the Settings app.
- Tap Apps
Messages
RCS Messaging.
- Turn on RCS Messaging.
Tip: Currently, RCS Business Messaging isn’t available.
Configure MMS settings
If your device uses iOS version 16.3 or lower, complete the steps below. To check the iOS version of your device, tap Settings General

- On your iPhone or iPad, open the Settings app.
- Tap Cellular
Cellular Data Network.
- In the "cellular data," "LTE setup," and "MMS" field, enter:

- In the "MMSC" field, enter:
http://m.fi.goog/mms/wapenc
- In the "MMS Max Message size" field, enter:
23456789
- In the "personal hotspot APN" field, enter:
h2g2-t
- Restart your iPhone.
Tip: You can't use SMS delivery reports with Google Fi.
