Run an originality report on your work

To use Originality reports, your school must sign up for the beta program and your teacher needs to turn it on for your assignment.

This article is for students

To identify uncited content and unintentional plagiarism before you turn in your work, you can run an originality report. Originality reports compare your Google Docs against hundreds of billions of webpages and tens of millions of books, link to detected sources, and flag uncited text.

You can run up to 3 originality reports per assignment. The reports are private to you, and your teacher can’t see them. After you turn in your work, Classroom automatically runs a report that only the teacher can see. If you unsubmit and resubmit a file, Classroom runs another originality report.

Note: The Originality report beta is available only for Docs in English.
