Add a grade category to posts

Tip: To use the gradebook features, a teacher or G Suite administrator must sign up. For instructions, see Sign up for Gradebook beta.

If you use the gradebook feature you can add grade categories to assignments and questions.

Add a grade category to a post

Note: Before you can use grade categories, you need to create them in the Settings page. For instructions, see Set up grading.

  1. Go to classroom.google.com and click Sign In.

    Sign in with your Google Account. For example, you@yourschool.edu or you@gmail.comLearn more.

  2. Go to the class assignments.
  3. Choose one:
    • Add a grade category to an existing assignment—Next to the assignment, quiz assignment, or question, click More  More and then Edit.
    • Add a grade category to a new assignment—Create an Assignment, Quiz assignment, or Question.
  4. Next to Grade category, click the Down arrow Down Arrow and choose a category.

  5. (Optional) Edit the assigned point value of the grade category.
