Here's how to fix problems you might have using Classroom.
Fix issues when you sign in
I can't sign in to Classroom- School account—Also known as a Google Workspace for Education account, this account is set up by an accredited school. It looks like "yourname@yourschool.edu."
- Personal Google Account—This is set up by you, or your parent or guardian. Typically, you use a personal Google Account outside of a school setting, such as a homeschool. It looks like you@example.com.
- Google Workspace account—This is set up by your organization’s administrator. It looks like "you@yourcompany.com."
- You must have an active Internet connection to sign in to your account.
- If you can’t sign in with the correct email account and password, maybe your school’s administrator doesn’t automatically activate Classroom for new students and users. For more assistance, contact your teacher.

Fix issues when you join a class
My class code doesn't workIf the class code doesn’t work, check that:
- You’re signed in to Classroom with the correct account. Learn how to sign in to Classroom.
- The code you enter is 6 to 8 characters long, and uses letters and numbers. Codes can’t have spaces or use special characters.

- You enter the code correctly. This includes any capital letters or special characters.
- If you’re sure that you enter the code correctly, contact your teacher as there might be a technical issue.
If you still have trouble, let your teacher know.
Tip: You only use the class code once to enroll. After you join, you don’t need to use the code again.
- To join a class, you just need to enter the class code once. After you join, you don’t need to enter the code again.
- If you forget, lose, or delete the code before you join the class, ask your teacher to share it with you.
- Contact your teacher: The easiest way to get your class code is to ask your teacher directly.
- Check your email: Your teacher can send the class code in an email. Check your inbox and spam folder.
If you lose your class invitation before you join a class, ask your teacher to send you the class invitation again.

Fix email issues
I can't send or receive email- If your school uses Google Workspace for Education – your school's admin might have turned off Gmail for students. Ask your teacher to contact the admin.

Fix issues with assignments
The Turn in button doesn’t workIf you get an error message when you click Turn in, let your teacher know.
If you can’t turn in an attachment assigned to you, try these steps:
- To save any work you did in the attachment, copy and paste your work into a blank document.
- In the Classroom assignment, on the attachment, click Remove Make a copy.
- Click the new attachment.
- Paste any saved work into the new file.
- Click Turn in.
- If you don’t get an attachment that your teacher assigned, let your teacher know.
- For information about attachments assigned to you, go to turn in an assignment.
If you get the error message "Couldn't attach file" when you submit an assignment, try these different methods instead:
- Attach the file in Stream, then paste the link in the assignment.
- Open the Classwork folder, upload your file to the Class Drive, then share your file with the class group.
- Upload the same file again as a separate copy, then attach the file to the class.
