Mention classmates in your posts

If you want to catch someone’s attention when you send a post in Classroom, use ‘+’ or ‘@’ with the person’s email to mention them. You can ‘+’ or ‘@’ mention classmates or your teacher, or both, in comments or replies in the class stream to invite them to join a discussion or to see your message.

For example, when your teacher posts a question, you can submit your answer and also +mention a classmate to join in your discussion with your teacher.

When you mention someone in your comment or reply using the ‘+’ or ‘@’ sign, the person you mentioned receives an email if they have notifications set up in their account settings.

Note: ‘+’ or ‘@’ mention only work in the class stream.
