Set up Assignments in Schoology or another LMS

To set up Assignments in your learning management system (LMS), you need to:

1. Generate a Learning Tools Interoperability (LTI) key and a secret code in the Assignments admin console.
2. Use the generated LTI key and secret code to set up Assignments as an LTI tool in your LMS.

Set up Assignments in Schoology

Step 1: Generate a Learning Tools Interoperability (LTI) key and a secret code.

1. Go to the Assignments admin console.
2. Click Generate new pair.
   
3. Select Schoology from the listclick Generate.
   
4. Save or copy the LTI key and secret code. You’ll need them for Step 2.
   Tip: To keep your key and secret handy, don’t click Done until you complete Step 2. 
   

Step 2: Complete the setup in Schoology

1. Sign in to Schoology as an administrator. 
2. Go to the Schoology Apps Center. 
3. Click the Google Assignments app. 
4. Click Install LTI appI agree.
   
5. Click Add to organization.
   
   You see your Organization Apps. 
6. Next to Google Assignments, click Configure.
   
7. In the Consumer key and Shared secret fields, enter or paste the key and secret generated in Step 1, above,click Save settings.
   
8. Click School Apps to return to your Organization Apps.
9. Next to Google Assignments, click Install/Remove. 
   
10. Next to All courses, check the boxclick Submit
    

Now, when an instructor adds materials to a course, the Google Assignments app appears as an option. 

Set up Assignments in other LMSs

2. Click Generate new pairselect your LMS from the listclick Generate.
3. Save or copy the LTI key and secret code. You’ll need them for Step 2.
   Tip: To keep your key and secret handy, don’t click Done until you complete Step 2.
