Stop getting Google Duo calls

If you’ve connected your phone number to any Google services, you may automatically be registered with other products, like Google Duo. If you want, you can uninstall Duo or delete your Duo account. If you want to use Duo again later, you’ll need to register again.

Here are some ways to stop receiving Duo calls.

Block calls

If you want to stop getting calls from a specific number, block the phone number. Learn how to block others from calling you.

Delete and uninstall Duo

Step 1: Delete your account

Deleting your Duo account is the only way to completely disconnect it from your phone number or Google Account.

  • During set-up: Tap Unregister and then ​ Unregister.
  • After set-up: Tap MoreMore and then Settings and then Delete Duo account and then Delete.

Important: If you delete your account, phone numbers won't be blocked anymore if you register for Duo again.

Step 2: Uninstall Duo

Important: On some devices, Duo is pre-installed on the device and can't be uninstalled.

For other devices where Duo isn't pre-install and if you've uninstalled the app already, you can wait 40 days for Duo to be automatically disconnected. If you don't want to wait 40 days:

  1. Press and hold the Duo icon.
  2. Tap Info
  3. Tap Uninstall and then OK

Other ways to stop calls

If you've never registered for Duo, stop getting Duo calls

If you've never registered for app, you can stop getting video calls from people who have your number.

  1. Open your device’s Settings app.
  2. Tap Google and then App preview messages.
  3. In "Connected apps," turn off Duo.

Remove your phone number from other Google services

You can unregister your phone number from other Google services, so that you’re no longer reachable by people who have your phone number. Learn how to disconnect your number.
