Edit a campaign

Edit campaigns or ad groups in bulk

For a limited set of common settings in the engine accounts that are supported in Search Ads 360, you can change a setting in a selected group of campaigns or ad groups all at once. For example, you can specify a 5% increase to simultaneously change the daily budget of 20 campaigns. (For other settings, you'll need to edit campaigns and ad groups one at a time.)

In social engine accounts and engine track accounts, the number of settings that can be changed in bulk is fewer. In these campaigns, you can only simultaneously apply or remove labels or change the status of a group social or engine track campaigns and ad groups.

Once you start a bulk edit for a large group of items, Search Ads 360 may need some time to apply the edits. In the meantime, Search Ads 360 does not start applying other bulk edits that you might start in the engine account, or bulk edits that were scheduled to start, until the current edit is finished. That is, there can only be one active bulk edit per engine account at a time.

To edit campaigns or ad groups in bulk:

  1. Navigate to the engine account that contains the campaigns or ad groups you want to edit.

Steps for navigating to an engine account
    1. In the left navigation panel, click All accounts.
What if the left navigation pane isn't visible?

    2. Click the navigation bar to display navigation options.

    3. In the "Agency" list, click on the agency that contains the advertiser. You can search for an agency by name or scroll through the list.

    4. In the "Advertiser" list, click on the advertiser that contains the engine account.

    5. In the "Account" list, click on the engine account.

    6. Click Apply or press the Enter key.

Search Ads 360 displays the engine account page.

  2. Specify campaigns or ad groups to edit by doing either of the following in the reporting table:

    • Select the check box next to each campaign or ad group you want to edit.

    • Filter the table so it contains only the campaigns or ad groups you want to edit.

  3. In the toolbar above the table, click the Edit ▼ button and select an edit action.
    The Editing panel appears.

The list of actions in the Edit menu depends on the current scope. For example, if you scope to an advertiser, the Edit menu for campaigns does not include the option to change the search max CPC (such an action does not apply to campaigns).

You may be able to use a formula column to calculate the value of the setting. For example, you can use a formula column that returns a monetary value to calculate the value of a campaign's budget.

  4. The Applies to option shows the number of campaigns or ad groups you selected.
You also have the option to select all campaigns or ad groups across all pages or matching the filter.
  5. Specify new values to set.

  6. You can schedule the edit to occur at a specific time or on a recurring basis. Learn more about scheduled edits.
  7. Click Save.
A line above the table displays the progress of the bulk edit. If needed, you can attempt to cancel the edits. It's possible to cancel a bulk edit while objects are being sent to the engine; visit the Bulk operations page to see which edits were fully processed before cancellation. However, if you click Cancel too late in the process, Search Ads 360 will finish all the edits.

  8. You can click the More details link to see the Bulk operations page.
