Report on estimated Floodlight conversions
In today's multi-device world, an increasing number of conversion funnels stretch across devices and web browsers. Given the way tracking and reporting systems work, there's no way to know for sure if a user who sees or clicks an ad on one device ends up converting on another. This could mean that you're underreporting the number of conversions your search ads are contributing to.
However, Floodlight activities can estimate the total number of conversions that occur---both those in which customers click a search ad and convert on the same device, as well as those in which customers see or click a search ad on one device but convert on a different device.
You can add these estimated total conversions to your reports in DoubleClick Search (DS) and view them alongside the single-device conversions. Learn more.
Updated features
Specify device type in conversions uploaded via the DS API
If you upload conversions from DoubleClick Search (DS) bulksheets or the DS API, you can now specify the type of device on which the conversion occurred. Valid device types are:
- Desktop
- Mobile
- Tablet
- Other
When you use a bulksheet to upload conversions, add the Device Segment column and specify the device type.
In the DS API, you'll see a property called Conversion.deviceType that indicates the type of device on which the conversion occurred. You can include this property in a Conversion.insert() request or Conversion.update() request to specify or change a device for new conversions or existing conversions.
