Merriweather font not working
I am using a 2012 Macbook air, latest version of chrome.
I do not have Merriweather in my WinWord so I tried a different obscure typeface, Algerian.
I uploaded and found following expected behaviour:
1) No conversion to GDocs.
i) Viewed in Google Drive Viewer - typeface not Algerian, probably Arial. A viewer does not purport to give an accurate representation of what is in the document. For that you need the native app.
ii) Downloading from My Drive into Word - typeface as originally produced, i.e. Algerian.
My test Word doc:
2) Conversion to GDocs.
As Algerian is unavailable the typeface defaulted to what is probably Arial. Typeface not indicated.
This is my Gdocs doc:
3) Online Gdocs document.
If I understood you correctly you just created a doc online, so I tried that:
I had to look for Merriweather in the additional font list.
Before I started typing I changed the typeface to Merriweather, which was then the doc default. No auto switch to Arial. Follow the link and you can see what I did. You can play around yourself - I have left it (and the others) open to editing.
I hope this helps.
When I look at your online gdocs document, it just comes in arial to me! I have deselected and then selected Merriweather again from my fonts list and it makes no difference. I am not converting any docs from word....
Merriweather looks a lot like Times New Roman to me in my set-up.
By all means write below my text - putting in a name or initial to distinguish from my text. Do *not* change colour in order not to affect font perception.
Can you post a screen shot of what you see when you are looking at my document?
