Google Drive App on Mac OSX makes Icon? file.

In case of directory sync, google drive app on Mac OSX create Icon? in all subdirectory.
Probablly this is why google drive app uses custom icon with each subdirectory.
Please don't create Icon? file in all subdirectory.
I can't use this service.
Version is 1.6.3837.2778

Google Drive needs a method to disable the creation of Icon^M files on Mac OS. It interferes with any program that expects to be in full control of it's directory structure. This includes version control software like Git and build systems like Eclipse or older versions of Arduino IDE that built files inside the Sketch folder. I have experience trouble with all three. Often, when using git push, not only does it cause git to fail, but it causes conflicts to appear duplicating folders corrupting the repository. During this time, no one else was modifying those files.

A much better solution for Google to do is to use Extended Attributes which Mac OS has and store the folder icons there, if possible, or at least, offer a way to disable the creation of Icon^M files.

Stupid workaround, but apparently Google Drive doesn't follow symbolic links, so it's possible to make Git work by moving .git somewhere else and link to it:

mv .git ~/dot-git-not-in-google-drive
ln -s ~/dot-git-not-in-google-drive .git
find ~/dot-git-not-in-google-drive -name Icon? -delete

Exactly, I'm using Google Drive as redundant backup for my git repo's as well, and this is annoying! I'd like a way to turn them of, or for them not to get into the way of git.

Yes, this seems to be a big problem. Its impossible to use source control with Google Drive.

Have the same problem, often facing problems uploading or deleting files and folders to FTP servers because of the invisible Icon files on OSX.

Yes, Google please fix this annoying bug. At the very least why isn't it hidden in a .gdrive directory or something? It seems a bit hackish of an implementation for tracking sync status on directories.
