Use Google Drive files offline

Want to get more out of Google Drive for work or school? Sign up for a Google Workspace trial at no charge. 

If you aren't connected to a Wi-Fi or mobile network, you can still view and edit files, including:

  • Google Docs
  • Google Sheets
  • Google Slides

Save files for offline use

  1. Open the app for Google Drive.
  2. Next to the file, tap More More.
  3. To save a preview of the file offline, turn on Available offline.

Tip: To edit a Google Docs, Sheets or Slides file offline, use the Google DocsSheets, or Slides app. Learn how to work on Google Docs, Sheets and Slides offline. 

Find files you saved for offline access

  1. Open the app for Google Drive Docs, Sheets, or Slides.
  2. Tap Menu Menu and then Offline.
