Notification

Google has closed an agreement for Squarespace, Inc. to acquire all domain name registrations from Google Domains. Squarespace is the registrar of record for your domain and the Squarespace terms of service apply; however, Google will manage your domain during a transition period. Following a transition period, your domain will be transitioned to Squarespace and, upon transfer, your data will be governed by Squarespace's privacy policyLearn more about the agreement.

Manage your domain registration

Important: If you purchased your domain through Google Workspace, manage your registration in the Google Admin console.

When you purchased a domain, it was registered for at least a one-year period. During this registration period, you retain the rights to that domain name. Your domain name is the exact string of characters that you purchased. You can't change your domain name once it's registered.

During and after your initial registration period, there are scenarios where you may need to take the following actions to manage your domain:

  • Renew your domain: Turn on auto-renew or manually add years to your registration
  • Delete your domain: Terminate your registration of a domain
  • Restore your domain: Reinstate a domain that you deleted or that expired in the restoration grace period (typically 30–60 days)
