Buy a domain

You can buy a domain through Google Domains.

Step 1: Check if a domain is available

Important: You can only buy a domain if it’s available.

1. Sign in to Google Domains.
   • If you don’t have a Google Account, you can also check if a domain is available.
2. Open the Menu .
3. Click Get a new domain.
4. In the search box, enter a domain name.
5. To find out if the domain is available, review the search results. Each domain that you can purchase has a check mark.
   • To review the full list, you can choose All endings.
   • To add a domain to your favorites, click Add to Favorites .

Review or share your favorite domains

You can review domains that you saved, or share them with others.

1. At the top right, click View Favorites .
2. At the top right of your Favorites list, click Share.
3. Enter a name for your Favorites list.
4. Click Next.
5. Click Copy link.
6. Share the copied link over email, text message, or any other communication service.

To review lists that you shared with others, click Shared.

To delete a shared list, next to the list, click Delete Delete.

Step 2: Buy your domain

1. Next to the domain you want to buy, click Add to cart .
   • Repeat for any additional domains you want to buy.
2. At the top right, click View cart .
3. For each domain, choose how many years of registration you want to buy.
4. To enter more info required by some domains, such as .us and .ca, click Enter info.
5. Select a privacy option. Learn more about privacy protection.
   • Optional: By default, domains that you buy are automatically renewed each year and billed through the payment method on your account. You can opt out of automatic renewal or buy multiple years in advance to avoid potential future price increases. Learn more about renewal options.
   • Optional: To set up a custom email address with your domain, check the box next to “Google Workspace.” In the boxes below “Create your first admin account,” enter your info.
6. At the bottom, click Checkout.
7. Enter or edit your domain’s public contact info. This becomes the public contact info for your domain in the WHOIS database.
8. Select your payment method.
9. Click Buy. It can take up to a few minutes to process your registration.
