Exclude Floodlight activities from personalized ads

You can exclude a single Floodlight activity or all Floodlight activities within a Floodlight group or configuration from showing personalized ads.This allows you to manage how user data is collected and used, and prevent users from being added to audience lists or remarketed to.  Learn more about the personalized advertising policy

You can also limit the collection of remarketing data via the global site tag in Campaign Manager and Display & Video 360.

Users of Display and Video 360 who serve ads through Campaign Manager should edit Floodlight settings from within Campaign Manager.

Location based exclusions

Excluding a location from personalized ads means we will not collect personalized advertising data for those users. 

Floodlight Group or Configuration

To exclude locations from personalized ads for all Floodlight activities within a Floodlight group or configuration;

(Campaign Manager) Navigate to your advertiser > Floodlight Configuration

(DV360) Navigate to your partner > Floodlight Groups > your Floodlight Group > Basic Details or your advertiser > Resources > Floodlight Group > Basic Details

then:

  1. Scroll to  Personalized ad exclusions
  2. Click Apply personalized ad exclusions to all Floodlight activities.
  3. Choose the locations you want to exclude.
    1. All locations
    2. Select locations

Floodlight activity

To exclude locations from personalized ads for a single Floodlight activity;

(Campaign Manager) Navigate to your advertiser > Floodlight activities > your Floodlight activity

(DV360) Navigate to your Floodlight group > your Floodlight activity > Basic Details

then:

  1. Scroll to Personalized ad exclusions  
  2. Choose the locations you want to exclude
    1. All locations
    2. Select locations

Limitations

  • Locations are based on user agent and IP address at the time of the conversion. In some cases they may not represent the user's actual location.
