If your Daydream controller won't pair, disconnects, or won't update, try the solutions below.
Step 1: Charge your controller
Your controller’s battery might be low. To charge your controller, you’ll need a USB Type-C charger. It might take up to 2 hours to fully charge the controller (or until the status light stays on).
Step 2: Close other apps
- On your phone, find your recent apps.
- To quit all apps, tap Clear all.
- On some phones, you first need to swipe to the end of the list.
- Open the Daydream app

Step 3: Check Bluetooth connectivity
On your phone, turn Bluetooth off, and then on again. If the controller still isn’t pairing, turn off any active Bluetooth connections:
For Android 7.0 devices
- Open your phone's Settings app

- Under "Wireless & networks," tap Bluetooth.
- Make sure Bluetooth is turned on.
- Disconnect all devices except the controller. For each device, tap the name and tap OK.
For Android 8.0 devices
- Open your phone's Settings app

- Under "Connected devices," tap Bluetooth.
- Make sure Bluetooth is turned on.
- Disconnect all devices except the controller. For each device, tap the name and tap OK.
If your controller still isn't working, try the following steps:
Step 4: Clear VR Services app data
- On your phone, find your recent apps.
- Quit all apps by tapping Clear all.
- Open your phone's Settings app

- Tap Apps
Google VR Services
Storage
Clear Data
OK.
- Open the Daydream app
.
- Try pairing.
