Maps User Contributed Content Policy

Google is dedicated to helping you discover the world around you. User-contributed content on our platforms are intended to enhance your experience, helping you preview and explore places nearby or across the globe. We go to great lengths to make sure that content published by third-party contributors is useful and reflects the world that our users explore.

We’ve developed these content policies for Maps' user contributed content to help ensure that everyone viewing user-generated content has a positive, beneficial experience. These policies explain important differences between how we address content captured in different formats, how we treat inappropriate content and the necessary criteria for publishing images or videos to Google platforms.

Contributions must be based on real experiences and information. Deliberately fake content, copied or stolen photos, off-topic reviews, defamatory language, personal attacks and unnecessary or incorrect content are all in violation of our policy. If you see this behaviour, please report it.

We reserve the right to disable user generated contributions for individual business profiles and business categories to prevent abuse. We also reserve the right to disable user generated contributions for individual business profiles and business categories to prevent abuse. We also reserve the right to remove content that violates our policies or terms of service, and to suspend or delete abusive accounts.

Please check back from time to time, as we may occasionally update our policies.
