Expand all Collapse all

Why should I migrate my billing account?

To better serve our Google Cloud Platform customers in Korea, the contract party of your Google Cloud Platform services is changing from Google Asia Pacific Pte Ltd to Google Cloud Korea LLC (as a reseller) and to local currency payments (KRW).

Customers paying by credit card need to migrate their billing accounts by using the Billing account migration page. If you're a business customer, you also need to provide your Business Registration Number (BRN) and and other tax related information. You may have to contact your Billing admin to complete this process.

If you are a customer paying by monthly invoicing, complete this form to be migrated.

Will I be able to pay in USD after migration?

No. Going forward all customers with a billing account address in Korea will be billed in Korean Won (KRW).

What is changing for my billing account?

Once your account has been transitioned to Google Cloud Korea LLC, you will see the following changes:

  • Your billing account ID will change.
  • Your invoices will be issued by Google Cloud Korea LLC instead of Google Asia Pacific Pte Ltd.
  • You will be billed in Korean Won (KRW).
  • You will be charged local taxes (10% VAT).
  • If you're on invoicing, the remittance information on your monthly invoice will change.
Where can I see my pricing in KRW?

When Google charges in local currency, we convert prices into applicable local currency pursuant to the conversion rates published by leading financial institutions. See your GCP pricing in KRW on the Google Cloud Platform SKUs page.

Why do I need to provide my Business Registration Number (BRN)?

To comply with local law and accordingly charge the applicable VAT correctly on the invoice, if you’re a business customer, Google is required to collect your BRN and other tax related information.

What if I don’t have a BRN?

If you're an individual and you don’t have a BRN yet, you can select Individual during the migration steps. As an Individual, you are not required to enter a BRN. However, Google Cloud Platform services can only be used for economic benefit now or in the future.

Why am I being asked to confirm that I'm using Google Cloud for current or future economic benefit?

In Korea, Google Cloud services can only be used for business purposes. During Google Cloud billing account setup, you may be asked to confirm that you see a potential economic benefit from your use of Google Cloud services now or in the future. For example, you are using Google Cloud Platform to develop prototypes or applications with a goal of generating revenue.

How do I see my old invoices and billing reports?

Once your old billing account is closed you can gain access to your previous billing reports and invoices by visiting Cloud Billing, selecting “Show active accounts only” and changing it to “Show all accounts”. Your old account and associated reports and invoices are then accessible via the old billing account.

If you have any issues please contact Cloud Billing Support.

If I didn't migrate my billing account in time, how do I recover access to Google Cloud?

You can recover access to your Google Cloud services by creating a new billing account and self-migrating your projects using the following process:

  1. Create a new billing account with valid payment method and Tax ID (NPWP), if applicable.
  2. Change the billing account for your projects to the new billing account.
