With YouTube Music and a speaker that works with Google Cast, you can take your favorite tunes to a whole other level by casting them to your speakers.
After you've set up your speaker that works with Cast, here's how you can listen to music using YouTube Music .
- Local Network must be enabled for mobile devices with iOS 14 or later and computers with MacOS 15 or later to discover Cast-enabled devices. Learn more about Local Network for casting.

.During playback, you can turn the screen off on your device or computer to save battery. You can also use other apps on your device and open other tabs on your computer's browser while casting.
Disconnect from your Google Cast-enabled speaker
- On your phone or tablet: Tap the Cast button
and select Stop casting.
- On your computer: In the top right corner of your browser, click the Cast button
and select Stop casting.Music controls
- On your phone or tablet: You can use the playback controls on the YouTube Music app
. You can also quickly access your playback controls through your device's notifications.
- On your computer: You can use the playback controls on YouTube Music, near the bottom of the screen.
- It can be a good idea to keep the music player open when listening to music on Google Cast audio device with your computer. Playback controls can't be used after the music player has been closed, the computer has been turned off, or an Internet connection has been lost.
