Play store Kindle app not compatible with C202S?

I just got a new chromebook, an Asus C202S. I have been trying to download the Kindle app from the play store but cant download or install it as I just get the "your device isn't compatible with this version" message. I can download other apps like Netflix and Adobe PDF reader from the store, but not Kindle.

I have tried looking this up, but the only solutions I have found are to clear the Google Play Store  and Google Play Services cache/data. Another solution had to do with migrating data, but I have not had a chromebook account before this. I have the OS and Play store latest updates.

Anyone have similar problems or know how to fix this?

OS version is 71.0.3578.94

I just updated my post with the version, for some reason when I tried to reply with it, it got blocked for violating community guidelines.

Unknown : The anti-spamming setting for this forum is too strict when it comes to numbers. Last week I tried to post with the date in yyyymmdd format, and I got the same community guidelines violation warning. Most annoying.

The Android version of Amazon's Kindle Reader is incompatible with Chromebooks. This is an Amazon problem. The play store shows an app named Kindle Reader - Book reader of all formats and PDF by hiepkhach9x/ I have no direct experience with this app.

Amazon support is iffy. For books, I use Kindle Cloud Reader from the Chrome Web Store. It works perfectly, syncing with my Amazon library, and I prefer the way it works to the Android version of Kindle.

The Android Amazon Music and Prime Video apps not only work on my Chromebook, but supporting casting to a Chromecast, making an Amazon Fire TV stick unnecessary.

Why is the Kindle app incompatible, while the Music and Video apps are? Only Amazon knows, and they're not telling.

Hey UnknownReader,

I have this app installed on 3 Chromebooks and they work without any issues.

Are you opening the Play Store Android app on your Chromebook or going to the website?

If you just got your CB and just enabled the Play Store, please try a complete shutdown and restart. On a Chromebook, signing out doesn't count as a shutdown. Click on the status area (where the clock is) bottom right > click on the power icon.
Sometimes too many things have to download and sync when first setting up a Chromebook. A reboot usually fixes things.

playstore apps arent one size works on all.I have two playstore capable  chromebooks and the previously mentioned  app fails on both but works on my samsung tablet

Sometimes it depends on the device itself sometimes it depends on the date you install
