Control who can use your Chromebook

If your account is designated as the owner of your Chromebook, you can control who can sign in.

Let anyone sign in to your Chromebook

You can let a friend sign in to your Chromebook using their Google Account:

  1. Sign in to your Chromebook with the account designated as the owner.
  2. Click the status area, where your account picture appears.
  3. Click Settings.
  4. In the "People" section, click Manage other users.
  5. In the box that appears, uncheck the box "Restrict sign-in to the following users."
  6. Click Done.

Let only certain people sign in to your Chromebook

You can choose to let only certain Google Accounts use your Chromebook:

  1. Sign in to the Chromebook with the account designated as the owner.
  2. Click the status area, where your account picture appears.
  3. Click Settings.
  4. In the "People" section, click Manage other users.
  5. To choose who can sign in to your Chromebook, check the box for Restrict sign-in to the following users.
    • You'll see a list that shows all the Google Accounts on your Chromebook.
    • You can add or remove accounts from this list.
  6. Click Done.

Require people to sign in to use your Chromebook

Turn off guest browsing.
