Use Safe Browsing in Chrome

With Safe Browsing, you get alerts about malware, risky extensions, phishing or sites on Google’s list of potentially unsafe sites. Learn more about Safe Browsing protection in Chrome.

Change your Safe Browsing settings 

  1. On your iPhone or iPad, open Chrome Chrome.
  2. Tap More More and then Settings Settings
  3. Tap Privacy and security and then Safe Browsing.
  4. Select the level of Safe Browsing that you want to use.

Browsing protection levels

Enhanced protection

Standard protection

  • Automatically warns you about potentially risky sites. 
  • You can choose to be warned about leaked passwords. 
  • To improve security on the web for everyone, you can choose to send additional info to Google.

No protection

  • Safe Browsing is turned off. 
  • Features used in the other protection levels are turned off.
  • Safe Browsing might still be turned on in other Google services, like Gmail.
