You can use your camera and microphone for sites and features, like video chatting, in Chrome.
Important: If you're using Chrome at work or school, your network administrator can set camera and microphone settings. You may not be able to modify the camera and microphone settings. Learn about managed Chrome browser.
You can use your camera and microphone for features in Chrome, such as voice search or the QR code scanner.
- On your iPhone or iPad, open Chrome .
- Go to a site that wants to use your microphone or camera.
- When prompted, tap Allow or Don't allow.
- To edit your preference immediately, tap Edit.
To use your voice with certain features, like voice search, you may also need to turn on speech recognition.
- On your iPhone or iPad, open Settings.
- Select Chrome.
- Turn on Speech recognition.
Change a site's camera and microphone permissions
- On your iPhone or iPad, open Chrome .
- On the left of your address bar, tap Camera or Microphone .
- These icons only appear if you have previously changed your camera and microphone permissions for the site.
- Turn Permissions on or off.
- If camera or microphone access is off, you can turn it on again in your device settings.
Tip: If you've turned off camera or microphone access for Chrome on your device, you may not find a permission prompt when you visit a site. To change your Chrome permissions, go to your iPhone or iPad Settings app.
