You can use your camera and microphone for sites and features, like video chatting, in Chrome.
Important: If you're using Chrome at work or school, your network administrator can set camera and microphone settings. You may not be able to modify the camera and microphone settings. Learn about managed Chrome browser.
- On your Android device, open Chrome .
- Go to a site that wants to use your microphone and camera.
- When prompted, tap Allow or Block.
- Allowed sites: Sites can start to record when you're on the site. If you're using a different Chrome tab or a different app, a site can't start recording.
- Blocked sites: Some sites won't work if you block them. For example, you won't be able to join a video conference.
Change a site's camera and microphone permissions
- On your Android device, open Chrome .
- To the right of the address bar, tap More Settings.
- Tap Site settings Microphone or Camera.
- Tap to turn the microphone or camera on or off.
- If you find the site that you want to use under Blocked, tap the site Allow.
Tips:
- If you've turned off microphone access on your device: To use your microphone, you can change app permissions on Android.
- If you're using a Chrome device at work or school: Your network administrator can set camera and microphone settings for you. You can't change the settings and only your network administrator can do it for you. Learn about using a managed Chrome device.
