Manage Chrome with multiple profiles

With profiles, you can keep all your Chrome info separate, like bookmarks, history, passwords and other settings.

Profiles are ideal when you want to:

  • Share a computer with multiple people.
  • Keep your different accounts, like work and personal, separate.

What others can see when you share Chrome

Only share your device with people that you trust. If someone has your device, they can switch to any other Chrome profile on it. If they open your Chrome profile, they can see info like the websites you have visited.

On your iPhone or iPad, you can use Chrome to separate your browsing related to your organisation from your personal browsing.

  • When you sign in or switch to your work Google Account in Chrome: your data and content stay within your work account only. This includes, but isn't limited to, your tabs, history and passwords.
  • For personal browsing: you can sign out or switch to a personal Google Account.

  2. At the top right, tap your account.
    • If you can't find your account, tap New tab New tab.

When you sign in to Chrome for the first time with your work Google Account:

  • You can also find that the Google Account that you signed in to is managed by your organisation. Learn about managed Chrome browser.
