Fill in forms automatically in Chrome

You can let Chrome fill in forms automatically with saved info, such as your addresses or payment info. Additionally, when you enter info in a new form online, Chrome might ask you if you'd like to save it to your Google Account.

Edit or delete your email address, address or phone number

If you're signed in to Chrome, you can change the info saved in your Google Account. The changes that you make will appear on other devices and Google products where you're signed in with the same account.

1. On your iPhone or iPad, open Chrome .
2. Tap More   Settings .
3. Tap Addresses and more.
4. Edit or delete info:
   • Edit:
     1. Tap the entry.
     2. At the top right, tap Edit.
     3. When you've changed your info, at the top right, tap Done.
   • Delete:
     1. At the bottom right, tap Edit.
     2. Select the entry.
     3. Tap Delete Delete addressDone.

Add, edit or rename your payment method in Chrome

To add a payment method:

1. On your iPhone or iPad, open Chrome .
2. Tap More Settings   Payment methods.
3. Enter your payment information.
4. To save your information, at the top, tap Add.

To edit or rename a payment method:

1. On your iPhone or iPad, open Chrome .
2. Tap More Settings Payment methods.
3. Choose the method that you’d like to change.
4. Select Edit.
5. Change your card details and nickname.
6. Tap Done.
   • If you have previously saved your payment methods with Google Pay, you'll be redirected to the Google Pay site to update your info there.

Tips:

• If you rename a payment method, it appears when you select a form that uses a saved payment method.
• Chrome's payment method nicknames don't transfer to Google Pay. If you save your payment information in Google Pay, you must update it separately.

Save your payment information in Google Pay

When you’re signed in to Chrome and you enter your payment method into an online form, Chrome may ask if you want to save your payment info in Google Pay. If you accept, your payment information is saved in Google Pay. If Google Pay doesn’t support your payment method, Chrome may offer to save it locally on your device.

Payment methods saved in Google Pay show up as suggestions in most online forms.

Add, edit or delete a credit card in Google Pay

1. Go to wallet.google.com.
2. Tap Payment methods.
3. Choose an option.
   • Add: Tap Add payment method. If you don't see the option to add a new card, go to play.google.com/store/account to add a payment method.
   • Edit: Below the card, tap Edit.
   • Delete: Below the card, tap Remove.

Stop saving payment info in Google Pay

If you save credit cards and addresses to your Google Account from Chrome, your credit card info is saved in Google Pay.

Most cards saved in Google Pay will appear as suggestions when you're filling in forms online. To stop saving payment info in Google Pay:

1. On your iPhone or iPad, open Chrome .
2. Tap More   Settings .
3. At the top, tap the name of your account.
4. Turn off Payment methods, Offers and Addresses using Google Pay.

'GOOGLE *TEMPORARY HOLD' appears on my card statement

When you automatically enter or save a card in Chrome, Google may do a low-value credit card authorisation. This is a security measure to make sure that you're the legitimate owner of the card. The authorisation is cancelled by Google shortly thereafter.

Stop saving info in Chrome

1. On your iPhone or iPad, open Chrome .
2. Tap More Settings Payment methods or Addresses and more.
   • To stop saving payment info: Turn off Save and fill payment methods.
   • To stop saving addresses and contact info: Turn off Save and fill addresses.

If you have issues with Chrome not suggesting your saved info

• To confirm that you've saved the info that doesn't auto-populate: Tap More Settings .
• The website might not be secure enough to get this info from Chrome.
• If the website is secure, Chrome might not detect certain fields in the form.

Delete your saved autofill form info in Chrome

To delete your addresses, payment methods or other saved info in Chrome at the same time:

1. On your iPhone or iPad, open Chrome .
2. Tap More Clear browsing data.
3. Choose a time range, like 'Last hour' or 'All time'.
4. Under 'Advanced', select Autofill form data.
5. Tap Clear browsing data.

Manage 'Always verify when using autofill' setting

Important: This is a device-level setting. You must turn it on for each device that you want this setting on. 

To prevent others from using your payment info when you share your device, you can turn on verification when you use autofill. With this setting, you can increase your security and protect yourself from fraudulent activities. 

Turn the verification setting on or off

1. On your iPhone or iPad, open Chrome .
2. Tap More   Settings .
3. Tap Payment methods.
4. Next to 'Always verify when using autofill', turn on or off.

Troubleshoot 'Always verify when using autofill' setting

If the setting is greyed out and you can't turn it on, check if:

• The device has a screen lock. A screen lock is needed to use this setting. 
• The main autofill option, 'Save and fill payment methods' is on. 

When the setting is off, you may still be occasionally asked to verify your payment method for security purposes.
