Fill out forms automatically in Chrome

To reduce manual data entry and improve accuracy, you can use Chrome to automatically fill out online forms with saved info, like your name, passwords, addresses, and payment info. It can also use your name and email address from your Google Account and certain info from your Google Wallet. This provides an easy and complete filling experience.

To use autofill, make sure you’re signed in to your Google Account in Chrome.

Tip: Not all autofill features are available in all regions.

Add, edit, or delete payment & address info you saved in Chrome

Important: The save and fill info setting is on by default for Google Password Manager, payments, contact info, identity docs, and travel. If you've turned the save and fill setting off, autofill won't work for that info.

If your payment method is saved in Google Wallet, you'll need to edit or delete it in Google Wallet.

1. On your Android device, open Chrome .
2. Tap More Settings.
3. Under “Passwords and Autofill,” tap Payment methods or Addresses and more.
4. Add, edit, or delete info:
   • Add:
     1. At the bottom, tap Add card or Add address.
     2. When you've entered your info, at the bottom, tap Done.
   • Edit:
     1. Tap the entry Edit.
        • To edit a payment method, you’ll be taken to the Google Pay website.
     2. When you're done changing your info, at the bottom, tap Done.
   • Delete:
     1. Tap the entry.
        • To delete a payment method, you’ll be taken to the Google Pay website.
     2. Tap Remove .

If you add, edit, or delete info and you’re signed in to Chrome with your Google Account, your changes will also show up on your other devices where you’re signed in to Chrome with the same account.

Tips:

• When you submit forms with new or updated info, Chrome may prompt you to save this data to your Google Wallet.
• When you’re signed into your Google Account, address info is saved in your Google Account. All other info, like identification and vehicle information, is saved in your Google Wallet.
• If Use passes across Google is turned off in your Google Wallet settings, your info is saved locally to your device.

Manage autofill for one-time SMS verification codes

When Chrome identifies a website form with a one-time SMS verification code field for the first time, it requests permission to autofill SMS codes.

If you've given Chrome permission to access and autofill SMS codes:

• A prompt will be displayed. To fill the code, tap the prompt.
• The SMS code field is automatically filled in.

If SMS code autofill doesn’t work or if you previously denied Chrome access, you can review and manage your autofill settings.

1. On your Android device, open the Settings app.
2. At the top, tap your Google Account.
3. Under “Google services,” tap All services.
4. Under “Autofill & passwords,” tap Verification codes by SMS.
5. In “Verification codes by SMS,” to autofill SMS codes, turn on:
   • Autofill codes in apps and sites
   • Autofill codes in your default browser

Use your fingerprint or face to fill out forms

Use your fingerprint or device lock to verify your identity. You must still follow instructions and enter your security code at least once per payment method.

1. On your Android device, open Chrome .
2. Tap More Settings Payment methods.
3. Turn Verify it’s you to autofill payment methods on or off.

The first time you enter info for a card, you must manually enter the security code. After that, you can use your fingerprint to fill the form.

Manage your name and email in your Google Account

To automatically fill out forms, Chrome uses your name and email from your Google Account.

When you first use this feature, Chrome shows a message that informs you how it works and how to manage your data in Chrome settings.

To use this feature, make sure:

• You’re signed in to Chrome.
• The ”Save and fill addresses" is on.
  1. On your Android device, open Chrome .
  2. At the top right, tap More Settings Autofill and passwords.
  3. Tap Addresses and more.
  4. Turn Save and fill addresses on or off.

To manage your name and email:

1. Go to myaccount.google.com.
2. Tap Personal info Name & pronunciation or Email Save.

Tip: Any changes made to your information will be automatically updated across Chrome’s autofill settings.

If you have issues with Chrome not suggesting your saved info

• In Chrome settings, make sure you turn on the “Save and fill” feature for the info that doesn't autofill.
• To confirm the name and email shared from your Google Account for autofill, go to myaccount.google.com/personal-info.
• To confirm that you’ve saved the info that doesn’t auto populate, tap More Passwords and autofill.
• To allow autofill to use info from Google Wallet, make sure Use passes across Google is turned on.
• The website might not be secure enough to get this info from Chrome.
• If the website is secure, Chrome might not detect certain fields in the form.

Delete your saved autofill form info in Chrome

To delete your addresses, payment methods, or other saved info in Chrome at the same time:

1. On your Android device, open Chrome .
2. Tap More Settings.
3. Tap Privacy and security Delete browsing data.
4. Choose a time range, like "Last hour" or "All time."
5. Under "Advanced," choose Autofill form data.
6. Tap Delete data.

This method doesn't delete payment info and addresses stored in Google Pay, or info stored in Google Wallet. Learn how to remove info from Google Wallet.

Fill more fields with enhanced autofill

Important: Not all websites and forms are compatible with enhanced autofill.

With enhanced autofill, Chrome is able to autofill forms faster for you.

To use this feature, make sure you’re signed in to your Google Account in Chrome.

Turn Enhanced autofill on or off

Important: This setting is on unless you choose to turn it off.

1. On your Android device, open Chrome .
2. Tap More   Settings.
3. Under ”Passwords and Autofill,” tap Autofill settings.
4. Turn Enhanced autofill on or off.

Turn re-authentication on or off

For added protection when you access sensitive info, additional re-authentication is on by default, unless you turn it off. This setting requires you to use an additional log-in method, like your fingerprint, face, or other screen lock, when you access sensitive info.

If your device doesn't support biometrics, Chrome uses your default device screen lock like password or passcode instead.

1. On your Android device, open Chrome .
2. Tap More Settings.
3. Under ”Passwords and Autofill,” tap Autofill settings.
4. Turn Verify it’s you when filling sensitive info on or off.
   • If this toggle is off, authentications like screen lock or biometric verification won’t appear when you attempt to autofill sensitive info.

Choose your autofill provider

You can choose between Google or another autofill provider to save and fill in forms automatically in Chrome on Android devices.

Important:

• If you use another autofill service in Chrome, all autofill data will be sourced from a third-party password manager instead of Google. To use another autofill service, you must first add the service in Android settings.
• If you turn off autofill in Chrome, you can’t autofill or save across devices for:
  • Payments
  • Addresses
  • Passwords and passkeys saved in Google Password Manager

To choose your preferred autofill service:

1. On your Android device, open Chrome .
2. At the top right, tap More Settings.
3. Tap Autofill services.
4. To use Google Password Manager and Chrome Autofill, select Autofill with Google.
   • To use another autofill service in Chrome, select Autofill using another service.
5. To confirm the setting change, tap Restart Chrome.
   • This restarts your Chrome window.
   • To cancel the change, tap Cancel.
