Manage Chrome Side panel

In the side panel of your computer, you can find your search results, Reading list, and Bookmarks in one place. You can also use Google Lens to search images and review results in Side panel.

Use Side panel

  1. On your computer, open Chrome.
  2. At the top right, click Side panel .
  3. In the top left of the side panel, click the Down arrow Down arrow.
  4. Select Reading list or Bookmarks.
    • If you use other features like Google Lens, more options may be available.

Open search results in Side panel

  1. On your computer, open Chrome.
  2. In the address bar, enter your search query and press Enter.
  3. Click a search result.
  4. In the address bar, click Open search in side panel or the search engine icon on the far right.

Tip: When you search an image with Google Lens, the search results open in Side panel. Learn how to search the web with images.

Manage Side panel

  • To resize Side panel: On the side of the panel, click and hold Drag .
  • To change the location of the side panel:
    1. On your computer, open Chrome.
    2. Click More More and then Settings and then Appearance.
    3. Under "Side panel," select the side you want the panel to open.
  • To close Side panel: At the top right, click Close Close.
